The latest on Haiti

Haiti, the poorest country in the Western hemisphere is now a total disaster zone. Thousands are dead and tens of thousands are injured and homeless following an earthquake that measured 7.2 on the Richter scale.

Dont wait until it's 2 late!

Before Haiti was hit by an earthquake so devastating that the whole world paid notice to that impoverished and frequently neglected land, the singer Wyclef Jean organized the Yele Haiti movement to promote education, health care, environmental protection and community development on the island. I cant understand why wait until calamity happens to help those in need. because I'm sure someone had an idea that an earthquake was bound to occur. Now the U.S will stept in and provide billions of dollars to get them back on their feet. But that is money coming from where. So you have to ask youself with all the spending going on will America ever have a good economy again?

War???

I've read an article about how President Obama is asking Congress for an additional $33 billion to fight wars in Afghanistan and Iraq plus the $708 billion he needs for the Defense Department next year. I really don't think this is necessary for the simple fact these wars are not even important; they are not even popular. We are already in a recession and we need all the money we can get and using all of that money to fight an unknown war is pointless. Plus this will be just a bigger burden place on the people of the United States. People are already afraid of spending money this could put us in a even worst situation then we are already in.

Ideas of a SOLUTION

Homes like these have attributed to the death of many of my lost ones. I believe that we can change the outcome and threats that these abandon homes pose. But actions need to be made and it all starts with you. Change comes along with time everything does not happen over night. If you see trash around a abandon home try to pick it up or call the city and ask about the owner. May the community can come together and help buy the property and do something positive wit it! Just some suggestions people food for the thought until next time.

Homes like these have turned into nothing but hang out spots and drug hosts in our community. They present oppertunity to no good and we the people need to stand up and act. They can be knocked down or sold to people with low income. What do you feel should be done with abandoned homes in our community.
